Estonian and Finnish Naval Forces Exchanged Experiences

A bilateral training event between Estonian and Finnish navy was conducted last week in Tallinn, Estonia, with the focus on allied interoperability, cooperation and information sharing.

As a part of the training event organized by Estonian Naval School, the crew of the minelayer of the Finnish Navy, MLC Hämeenmaa, introduced their equipment and naval mines to the participants from the Estonian Navy.

Crew of the MLC Hämeenmaa also demonstrated their procedures on deploying their assets. Personnel of the Estonian Navy participating in the course also got to practice using the systems of the Finnish ship on the Gulf of Finland. The aim of the event was to improve the understanding of procedures and equipment among the Navies of the two nations to improve interoperability between the two NATO member states in the Baltic Sea region.
