Military Aviation Authority

The Military Aviation Authority is located in Tallinn at the Headquarters of the Estonian Defence Forces and is a structural unit of the Air Force. The aim of the Military Aviation Authority is to ensure regulated and safe military aviation.

Tasks

The main tasks of the Military Aviation Authority are the following:

  • monitoring compliance with military aviation requirements
  •  advising commanders of structural units engaged in military aviation
  • participating in the drafting of legislation in its field of activity
  • acting as the registrar and data processor of the military aviation aircraft register
  • issuing certificates of compliance for military aviation aircraft
  • awarding and coordinating permits and certificates in the area of military aviation
  • recognising certificates issued by other countries or governmental authorities
