ISTAR battalion enables multifunctional intelligence collection for the ESTDIV. It enables implementation of broad variety of collection assets in support of ESTDIV situational awareness and targeting.
ISTAR battalion is comprised of different disciplines and capabilities, including, but not limited to: ground reconnaissance, snipers, UAS, electronic warfare, tactical human intelligence, etc.
ISTAR battalion also prepares reconnaissance and surveillance units for infantry battalions and brigades. Given approach enables alignment of tactical drills, methods and standards across different echelons of command.
